Limited Tickets

Dakota Raffle is played only in South Dakota.  Tickets are available only from South Dakota Lottery retailers licensed to sell lotto tickets.

Each ticket costs $10.

There are only 100,000 tickets available.  Each ticket has a unique eight-digit number, ranging from 00000001 to 00100000.  There are no duplicates.

Only one raffle number will be printed on each ticket.  Tickets are sold statewide.  As a result, a player who buys more than one ticket at a time may not get tickets in numeric order

In addition to quick pick numbers, a player may choose his or her raffle number on a first come first served basis.  No player has any claim to a specific number beyond first request.  To ensure accuracy, write the number down on paper for the clerk (stores will even have a special note pad).  The retailer and the Lottery are not responsible or liable for any mismatch of numbers requested by the player and those appearing on the ticket.

A ticket cannot be canceled or replaced.  All sales are final.  Be sure to sign the back of your ticket.  Keep it in a safe place and do not lose it.

Limited Time

Tickets go on sale at 6:00 a.m. (CT) on September 30, 2007 and will end when the last ticket is sold or at 11:00 p.m. (CT) on December 30, 2007, whichever comes first.

The winning numbers will be drawn at 2:00 p.m. (CT) on December 31, 2007.

The drawing date may occur earlier if tickets sell out quickly.  Any change in date will be publicly announced.

Note:  Tickets purchased on Sept. 30 and early Oct. 1 incorrectly note the draw date at the bottom of the ticket as Dec. 30.  The drawing is scheduled for Dec. 31.  The error on the ticket does not affect in any way the chances or ability to win in the drawing.  The Lottery apologizes for any confusion.

 Winning Numbers

Winning numbers will be available on this website and at South Dakota Lottery retailers.

Winning numbers will be selected by a computerized random number generator which has been certified by Gaming Laboratories International, an outside testing laboratory.

The drawing order will be as follows:  the first number drawn will be the grand prize winner of $250,000.  The next five numbers drawn will be the $25,000 prize winners.  The next 250 numbers drawn will be the $500 prize winners.
