Sioux Falls Man Claims $144,157 Dakota Cash Jackpot;
Latest Winner Yet to Come Forward

(Pierre) – Rick Bandy of Sioux Falls stepped forward today to claim the $144,157 Dakota Cash jackpot. Bandy won the big prize by matching all five numbers in the game’s drawing last Saturday, October 27.

 At the Sioux Falls Lottery office this morning, Bandy said he chose his lucky numbers, using the number seven, his own birth date and a friend’s birth date.

 “When I found out I was the winner I just smiled a lot and tried to figure out what to do,” he said.

 Bandy bought his ticket at the HyVee on Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls.  The store will get a $5,000 bonus for selling the jackpot winning ticket.

 The Dakota Cash jackpot was also won the very next drawing on Wednesday, Oct. 31.  That $20,000 jackpot ticket was sold in Sioux Falls, but the winner has not yet come forward.

 Dakota Cash is played only in South Dakota.  The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:324,632.  The jackpot starts again at $20,000 for the next drawing Saturday night.
