(Pierre) – A Powerball ticket worth $200,000 expires in one week unless
someone comes forward to claim the prize.
The ticket, sold in Spearfish, matched all five white balls, but not the
red Powerball, in the July 1 drawing. Thursday, December 28 is the last day
to claim the prize at any of the three Lottery offices in Rapid City, Pierre
or Sioux Falls.
The winning numbers for the July 1, 2006 Powerball drawing were: 02, 31,
35, 40, 42 and the Powerball was 34.
A $210,037 Dakota Cash jackpot prize is also unclaimed, but that ticket
doesn’t expire until March 29, 2007. The jackpot-winning ticket was sold in
Huron for the September 30, 2006 drawing.
Lotto prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. If the prize
goes unclaimed, state law requires the money go back to players by funding
prizes in subsequent lottery games.
