Another
$200,000 Powerball Prize Won in South Dakota
(Pierre) –
For the second drawing in a row, a Powerball prize of $200,000 was won
in South Dakota.
A ticket sold
in Minnehaha County missed the jackpot by one number, matching the five
white balls, but not the red Powerball to win the game’s second prize in
Wednesday night’s drawing.
The winning
Powerball numbers for the Wednesday, October 10
drawing were: 12, 16, 31, 33, 54 and the Powerball was 5. The Power
Play multiplier was 4.
Lottery
officials are also still waiting for the winner from last Saturday
night’s drawing to come forward. That ticket, which also won the
$200,000 Powerball prize, was sold in North Sioux City.
Lottery
director Norm Lingle said, “Having two winners of that prize back to
back is great. It may not be the jackpot, but it sure is the next best
thing. The real fun will be paying the winners. We’re looking forward
to hearing from them.”
Lingle said
each ticket holder should sign the back of the ticket immediately, put
it in a safe place, and contact the Lottery office in Sioux Falls
(605-367-5840) or Pierre (605-773-5770) to make arrangements to validate
the ticket and claim the prize.
Lotto prizes
must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing in which the prize was
won.
A single
ticket sold in Colorado matched all six numbers to win the $20 million
Powerball jackpot Wednesday night. The jackpot for Saturday night’s
drawing starts again at $15 million.
Powerball is
played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin
Islands. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:146,107,962. The odds
of winning the second prize are 1:3,563,609.
