Powerball Ticket Sold in South Dakota
(Pierre) – A
Powerball ticket sold in North Sioux City is worth $200,000 after Saturday
night’s drawing. The lucky ticket matched the five white balls, but not the
red Powerball to win the prize.
The ticket was
one of only three in the nation to beat the 1:3,563,609 odds to win the
game’s second prize. The other two were sold in Indiana and Minnesota.
The winning
Powerball numbers for the Saturday October 6, 2007 drawing were: 08, 30,
32, 33, 51 and the Powerball was 2. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Lottery director
Norm Lingle said the ticket holder should sign the back of the ticket
immediately, put it in a safe place, and contact the Lottery office in Sioux
Falls (605-367-5840) or Pierre (605-773-5770) to make arrangements to
validate the ticket and claim the prize.
Lottery offices
will be closed on Monday, October 8 for the Native American Day holiday.
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.
Because no one
matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing, the estimated jackpot
for the next drawing on Wednesday night rises to $20 million.
Powerball is
played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:146,107,962.
